General Labor FAQ
Q1.Do you offer same-day dispatch for general labor?
Yes. We maintain an active local pool of general laborers in San Diego. For urgent requests, crews are typically on site within 1 to 2 hours.
Q2.Does every general labor crew have a crew chief?
Yes. Every crew includes a working crew chief who works alongside the crew, tracks time entries and attendance, and collects your on-site supervisor’s timecard approval signature at the end of each shift. Shifts with five or more workers add a dedicated crew chief position.
Q3.How are your general laborers vetted?
We interview everyone in-person at our San Diego office. We verify work authorization and check their past labor experience to ensure they are reliable before we dispatch them.
Q4.What is the minimum shift length for a worker?
We require a 4-hour minimum call per worker. This complies with California labor laws and helps us dispatch better, more reliable workers to your site.
Q5.Do you provide workers' comp and liability insurance?
Yes. Every worker we send out is a W-2 employee of Hands On Labor. We handle all payroll, taxes, workers' compensation, and general liability insurance.
