2. How Pay Works: Bi-Weekly Every Other Friday
Unlike informal day-labor corners where pay is uncertain and uninsured, Hands On Labor employs every worker on our direct W-2 payroll. That means:
- Consistent Paydays: Issued every other Friday via direct deposit or paper check. Track all dates on our 2026 Payroll Calendar.
- Full Workers' Comp: If an injury occurs on site, you are fully covered under California statutory workers' compensation.
- Verified Timecards: Shift leads verify hours digitally on site through our mobile timecard system so your hours are logged accurately.
3. Weekend Gigs & Flexible Scheduling
Need extra cash on weekends or days off? Live entertainment and festival builds peak on Thursday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays. Once onboarding is complete, dispatch sends shift notices directly via SMS. You choose which calls fit your availability.
4. What You Need for Your First Shift
- Standard government ID and eligibility to work in the US (I-9 verification).
- Work boots (steel-toe required on construction jobsites; black work shoes preferred for stage calls).
- Standard work clothing (all-black attire for backstage/concert show calls; durable workwear for construction).
